Alliance Française Accra and yoyo tinz will host the second edition of the Hip-Hop Festival from 16th to 21st November in Accra.
The festival which had its first edition in Ghana last year seeks to celebrate the history and future of Hip-Hop in all its forms with a carefully planned series of events.
The full week celebration will be made up of events and workshops that showcase the main elements of the hip hop culture which are: graffiti, dance, rap and DJing.
The highlights of the Hip Hop week include a Graffiti workshop with Da Cruz (France), a talk by yoyo tinz, a Hip Hop dance battle and to crown it all a Concert with Ghana’s own Ewe rapper Edem and the new generation of young hip hop rappers – A.I., Abladzo Kwame, Kula and Kahaz.
The festival will bring admirers and lovers of the hip hop culture in Ghana together to experience a long week of quality and fascinating entertainment.

Graffiti residency with Da Cruz (France) from Monday 16th to Thursday 19th November at Alliance Francaise Accra 2pm – 5pm(each day)-FREE.
Da Cruz is an emblematic artist of the Parisian scene. He offers an identifiable style, a kind of universal language, meeting naive and primitive worlds adapted to the contemporary urban jungle. It is a way for the artist to evoke vanished civilizations, contrasts between lush and exuberant nature. This residency will result in a temporary mural painting on the walls of Alliance and in other areas of Accra. A talk by yoyo tinz Palabre – Wednesday 18th November, Alliance Française Accra Exhibition hall from 6pm to 8pm– FREE
After a first edition in May 2015, the yoyo tinz crew has prepared a second round of the Palabre for the Accra hip hop week.
Palabre in French means discussion; join the yoyo tinz team and a selection of panellists to discuss artists’ social responsibility. Refreshments will be served after the discussion.
A Hip Hop Dance Battle on Friday 20th November, Alliance Française Accra at 8pm.
Discover or re-discover some of the best Ghanaian hip hop dancers such as Kri-Stars as they compete for the titles of “Best solo hip hop dancer” and “best hip hop dance crew”. They will have to impress the crowd with their best choreographies on Ghanaian hip hop tracks carefully selected by the yoyo tinz resident Dj: DJ Vim Tinz. The best dancers will be rewarded with a cash prize for the winners and a selection of amazing prices!

A Concert with EDEM and the new generation of hip hop rappers on Saturday 21st November at 8pm, Alliance Française Accra Amphitheatre
The Accra Hip Hop Week closure concert will be the climax of the festival with a main act by the Ewe rapper Edem. Guest artistes performing for the night include; M.anifest, Raquel, Gemini and Tiny On that night, the Ghanaian artist from the Volta,will offer a performance that will for no doubt blow your mind. To open the show, the yoyo tinz team has selected several talented artists: A.I., Abladzo Kwame, Kula and Kahaz.
Prepare to be amazed by wild flows, crazy rhymes and dope lyrics.
