Musician Bice Osei Kuffour popularly known as Obour has been sworn into office as new Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) president for another four-year term.

He polled some 88 votes to beat off competition from contenders Gyedu Blay Ambolley, 22, and Appiah Dankwa, a.k.a Appietus, 18.

The elections took place at the Oyinka Hotel in the Eastern Region and was attended by several personalities who matter when it comes to the creative and arts industry in Ghana.

The battle for presidency saw veteran musician Gyedu Blay Ambolley and sound engineer Appiah Dankwa aka Apietus contest the incumbent Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour.

Other contestants vied for various positions within the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

The congress was scheduled from October 29th and ended on 31st October, 2015. The 6th Quadrennial congress was under the theme: Developing The Music Industry, The Role Of An Effective Union.
