Growing Ghanaian-owned media group EIB Network is taking part in this year’s MIPCOM gathering of content producers and buyers in Turkey.
Representing the group are messrs Kafui Dey, until recently host of Starr 103.5 FM’s morning show, and Klaus vonBackustein, its Chief Operating Officer.
Both are in France to do some ground work ahead of what looks a possible entering into the television content buying and producing market in the coming months.
The team left Accra last week and have since taken part in sessions.
This year’s MIPCOM opened October 5 in Cannes, France. Some 1,996 companies are exhibiting while 2,439 are visiting with over 170 press houses from around the world covering what is yet the world’s biggest gathering of content producers, distributors and buyers.
“We’re taking part in the world’s biggest entertainment content market to prepare for the future as we continue to grow our business. It really is the key market place for our business,” says Klaus vonBackustein.
An important meeting ground for media owners, each October, the industry’s major players converge at MIPCOM in Cannes to turn every moment into an opportunity, transforming four days of meetings, screenings and conferences into deals, from blockbuster programming to groundbreaking partnerships.
MIPCOM 2015 runs till October 8.
EIB Network operates Starr 103.5 FM, Live 91.9 FM, Kasapa 102.3 FM all in Accra, Ultimate FM (Kumasi), Agoo FM (Nkawkaw), and Empire FM (Takoradi). Two new radio stations are going up in Tamale and Kumasi in the next few months. The group also owns the Daily Heritage Newspaper.
