The oil town of Takoradi will this weekend host the official relaunch of Empire 102.7 FM, owned by Africa’s fastest growing media group EIB Network.
The two-day event starts on Friday with a float through the principal streets of Sekondi-Takoradi, after which an official launch, and commissioning ceremony of the station’s new ultra-modern office will be held on Saturday. Located on the first floor of the Metro-Orient Building on the Liberation Road in Takoradi, the facility boasts an impressive modern day office design.
The event will be crowned with a music jam on Saturday evening co-headlined by some of the biggest stars in Ghana.
Pappy Kojo, 4×4, Gifty Osei, Yaa Pono and Westside Legacy among a dozen others, will treat patrons to a night’s experience inspired by Empire’s new direction of delivering the best radio standards.
Empire 102.7FM was established in 2013. It continues to be the Western Region’s most promising radio brand with the best talents leading its drive.
The relaunch will see the station focusing on a mix of compelling programmes, good music, live events and entertainment. The station’s concepts and direction have been refreshed with a new and carefully themed market-driven approach to conform to the ever-changing radio industry, officials say.
Business Manager of Empire 102.7 FM, Mr Elorm Nyahe says: “Empire 102.7 FM will strive to bring out the best radio experience for both listeners and clients to feel the difference in radio broadcasting.”
E.B Network’s other properties include Starr 103.5 FM, Live 91.9 FM, Kasapa 102.3 FM all in Accra, Ultimate 106.9 FM in Kumasi, Agoo 96.9 FM (Nkawkaw) and the Daily Heritage Newspaper. Three more stations are to be launched in Kuamsi, Cape Coast, and the Northern Region in the coming months. Also in the works, is a television station.
