Samsung Electronics West Africa (SEWA) partnered the Silverbird Cinemas, Ghana’s leading movie hub, to premiere Marvel’s latest superhero movie, Avengers “Age of Ultron”.
In the movie, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) jumpstarts a dormant peacekeeping program, things go terribly awry, forcing him, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) and the rest of the Avengers to reassemble. As the fate of earth hangs in the balance, the team is put to the ultimate test as they battle Ultron (James Spader), a technological terror hell bent on human extinction. Along the way, they encounter two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff. Ultron, the villain, masters powers beyond the imagination of the Avengers and assembles one of the fiercest teams to destroy the earth.
Samsung’s presence in the movie cannot be overlooked, making five striking appearances in the movie. We first encounter the Samsung tabs when Tony Stark and Bruce Banner were trying to merge J.A.R.VIS, Tony Stark’s artificially intelligent computer, programmed to speak with a male voice in British accents. The Samsung tablet was also used by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), when briefing the Avengers on the strategy to defeat Ultron.
A glaring view of a Samsung brand shop is also seen during Hulk’s fierce battle with Iron Man, after Wanda played with the former’s mind. Finally, the exclusively sleek Samsung Galaxy S6 was not left out, making two major appearances in the Avengers movie. We first see the Galaxy S6 in the climax where Hulk saves Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and when the Avengers return to their new facility after defeating Ultron, Black Widow flexes the sensational golden metallic S6 after her conversation with Tony Stark.
Viewers at last weekend’s premiere marveled throughout the movie, which never dropped the action tempo. Customers who pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in Ghana, were given free tickets for the Avengers “Age of Ultron” premiere. Samsung Galaxy S6 pre order customers have until May 15, 2015 to use their exclusive tickets in witnessing the convergence of technology and creativity.
