OAK PLAZA HOTEL – ACCRA – It’s official. The Tigo-sponsored 5th edition of the Ghana Meets Naija concert is going to be a blast.

From two worlds of Africa’s powerhouses of music, some of her mainstream acts get to battle it out – once again – for many reasons including bragging rights.

And away from the braggadocio, there would be a resolve to push the limits for a shot at supremacy. That battle will leave many bruised (not quiet) but it sure would be a beautiful celebration of African music.

Ghana is represented at this year’s by three of her biggest acts Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, and Sarkodie. From Nigeria comes the ever talented Marvins crew led by Don Jazzy.

Empire Entertainment, the organizers say this is a carefully chosen list. They are right. Each of the seven-member Marvins crew coming down for the concert has a hit that is on constant rotation on mainstream local radio. To be fair, they are the biggest label group in Africa now – by audience appeal.

And to say they have a match in the talented Ghana attacking trio of Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale would be stating the obvious. This is a match the gods have had in mind for sometime now.

Tigo, main event sponsors have promised an above-the-top tie-in that should get patrons excited.

So which country wins what this year? On May 23, the Accra International Conference Centre will provide that huge stage for that beautiful display of talent.
