Sadeeq Abdulai Abu, Head of OWN Productions at the Labone-based television station, Viasat 1, has left the station. He left on Friday, bringing his stewardship of a year and few months to an end.

The young talent, who joined Viasat 1 in 2013, is leaving to pursue personal interests, enewsgh.com has been told.

Abu’s days at the MTG-owned channel saw them win some 14 awards last year at the RTP Awards and Television Awards Ghana respectively. He was responsible for the revamped men themed lifestyle show Boys Boys, as well as the female-centered show One Show, which is hosted by Anita Erskine. He was also the brain behind the station’s Man of the Year Award, as well as the controversial JIGWE Awards, which took off last year . READ ALSO

Prior to joining Viasat 1, he was presenter of the 30 Minitz entertainment magazine show on local television. He also had a stint at HITZ FM.

Benny Bonsu, Ama K.Abebrese and the Bulgarian-born Ivan Todorov previously held the Head of OWN Productions position at Viasat 1.
