Former host of Asempa FM’s Sports Morning Show, Kofi Asare Brako (Abatay), has started work at his new station, Atinka 104.7 FM.
Brako was this morning joined in the studios by a group of well-wishers, to officially begin programming.
The station, previously trading as Sena Radio, has since re-branded, and started test transmission last week.
After some few days of test transmission, they formally went live today. A move motivated by the station’s quest to compete for some mainstream urban attention, and also cash in on the Africa Cup of Nations, they will rely heavily on the clout Brako and his team carry to stay relevant. READ ALSO

Also joining the sports team is Saddick Adams, formerly of Angel FM in Kumasi. Adams left for Equatorial Guinea last night, station sources say, and would lead Atinka FM’s coverage at the tournament. READ ALSO. A young, and intelligent gentleman with an appreciable following, he joins Atinka to add up to what should be a solid mass-market on-air staff.
Kwame Adinkra, one of Kumasi’s biggest names on morning radio is also set to join as host of the Morning Show.
Atinka FM is owned by Samuel Amo Tobin of local pharmaceutical giants Tobinco. Tobin also owns a number of business interests including Priority Insurance and Abii National Savings and Loans.
