DStv is poised to delight African Football fans with the broadcast of the biggest footballspectacle, the African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
SuperSport will be the number onedestination for all the football action taking place on the pitch in Equatorial Guinea where the 16 qualifying nations will be engaging in a battle to be crowned the ‘Kings ofAfrican Football’.
Football fans will be even more delighted to know that SuperSport 7 will act as the overflow channel for SS5 at the playoff stage where matches will kick off simultaneously. A selection of matches will also be made available on other channels.

DStv subscribers will have access to all 32 matches from the tournament across four SuperSport channels namely; SuperSport 7, Maximo, Select and SuperSport 9 East (where available) which will be available from Family to the upper tier packages. The live match broadcast will feature dual-language commentary (English and Portuguese) and expert analysis from football legends.
DStv will be also be activating a fifth channel, SuperSport 5 channel 205 on 15 January 2015 at 12:00PM GMT to cover all the AFCON action, and this channel will be opened up to the Compact and Compact Plus bouquets.
The activation of this channel forms part of MultiChoice’s commitment to provide subscribers with exciting sporting content and aims to bring subscribers closer to the soccer action and convey the excitement of the tournament in Equatorial Guinea. SuperSport 5 is an AFCON dedicated channel for the duration of the tournament and the channel will revert to its normal schedules on 9th February 2015 at 10:00 CAT.
Subscribers can watch the AFCON Opening Ceremony and Harambee on the 17th of January 2015. SuperSport channels SS4 (204), SS5 (205), will transmit the Harambee and the Opening Ceremony with the buildup commencing at 16:30 CAT on the 17th of January.
Supersport will also produce and broadcast programs around the tournament and some of the personality hosts include Ghanaian-born, former France football star Marcel Desailly who will lead SuperSport’s stellar line-up of analysts, former South African national team captain Neil Tovey, former Ghanaian international Samuel Kuffour and the straight-talking Benni McCarthy.
Sports presenters, Robert Marawa and Carol Tshabalala will analyse matches in hour-long build-ups and wrap-ups from the studio while Ghana’s Yaw Ampofu-Ankrah, Franklin Tembo Jnr from Zambia and South Africa’s Sizwe Mabena will report live from Equatorial Guinea.
