Miss Universe Ghana 2014, ABENA AKUABA APPIAH, left the shores of Ghana on Friday to the United States of America, to begin preparation for the upcoming Miss Universe finale at Miami, Florida, on January 25, 2015.

She was seen off by her family (mum and kid sister) and the organisers of the Miss Universe Ghana pageantry.

Abena is going earlier so as to “get prepared with the environment among other things,” organizers say.

Miss Universe 2014 will be the 63rd edition. It will be held at the FIU Arena at Florida International University in Doral, Miami, Florida, USA.

88 contestants from around the world will compete for the crown.

Gabriela Isler of Venezuela is the reigning queen.
