Musician, Kwaw Kese, is to remain in prison custody for two weeks, a Circuit court in Kumasi has heard.
The musician, who was arrested by the police in Ashanti Region on Saturday evening for smoking a substance believed to be cannabis, appeared in court on Monday morning.
Kese, who was in the company of some friends when he was arrested, made the appearance after being denied bail hours after his arrest.
A plea for bail by his lawyer Nana Kwasi Boaitey was denied by judge William Boampong.
The police say they had a good reason to put him before court, insisting the musician agree he was using the substance at the time of arrest.
“We all know cannabis and he will not deny, he hasn’t denied,” the police have said.
The case in back in court on December 8.
