The three judges of the MTN Hitmaker show, OfieKodjoe, Bessa Simons and Hammer, have expressed optimism about the final 12 contestants of the third season, noting that this year’s show will be more interesting than previous ones.

After the first and second live shows, which saw the contestants perform before the judges and studio audience, the three agreed that the contestants know exactly what is at stake and are ready to battle it out.

Right from the beginning, contestant after contestant came onto the stage and thrilled the audience so much that the audience kept asking for more.

“I think this season is going to be bigger than we had thought. They came onto the stage and took everyone by surprise, and this is what we have always been waiting to see: contestants who are not afraid of anything and ready to go for the kill,” Bessa said.
New judge Hammer couldn’t have agreed more. He said he was very impressed with what he had seen so far and couldn’t wait to see what would happen when evictions begin.

“If this is what they are doing right from the beginning, then I do not know what they will be doing when eviction begins. I think we (judges) will be kept on our toes as to who we decide should go home. I am very happy with what they have done and I am ready for more.”

The ever-smiling Ofie added her voice to what her colleagues had already said. “I think this group is ready to roar right from the start.

Unlike the first season, whereby the contestants were feeling jittery during the first and second shows, this group has taken off with great energy and excitement — and this is what the show is all about.”

Under the tagline “Dream It, Be It”, the show, which has produced artistes including Naterial, Mariam Afari, Koo Ntakara, and Trozo, is poised to deliver more Hitmakers this year.

There will be regular evictions until only four contestants remain in battle for the ultimate prize, which is a recording deal worth GH¢100,000.The current Hitmaker season was launched in July.
