Newly established, Starr 103.5 FM, is live on air.
The station is operating from the Meridian building that formerly housed the Emirates Airlines Office on the Ring Road.
Some of the biggest names in urban radio’s recent history have since moved camp to the new frequency.
Bola Ray, Kafui Dey, Jon Germain, Nii Ayi Tagoe, DJ Blow, Dennis Mirpuri, Kwaku Obeng Adjei, Sammy Darko and Henry Twum Asante among other big names have joined.
Other names include Patrick Ayimu, and Kent Mensah, all formerly of the Adabraka-based, Citi FM.
The test transmission is expected to last for a month, after which full-scale broadcasting would begin.
Former JOY FM presenter, Kwabena Anokye Adisi, also known as Bola Ray, is leading the charge as CEO. He is joined at the top level by former programmes director of Asempa FM, Adom FM, and Joy FM, Cox Tamakloe, who is General Manager
Starr FM is owned by the EIB Group, the same company that also owns Ultimate Radio in Kumasi.
