Ghana midfielders, Michael Essien and kevin-Prince Boateng, have been granted permission to stay out of the first part of the Black Stars’ pre-World Cup campaign.

Consequently, the duo will miss the non-residential camping which starts on Tuesday.

Goal.com reported Monday that both players have been excused on the grounds of family issues.

According to the report, Schalke midfielder Boateng, is expected to use the period to sort out his fitness issues with his personal doctor.

Essien and Boateng will join the team in Holland on May 25 when the residential camping begins.

The duo is expected to make Coach Kwasi Appiah’s final 23-man squad for the world Cup.

Ghana have been drawn in Group G alongside USA, Germany and Portugal.

The Black Stars open their campaign against USA on June 16.
