On Saturday 3rd May, 2014, the attention of the nation will be the biggest musical show piece in th nation. The 14th Edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

The event has over the years evolved, cutting off the glitches and modelling it into one of the biggest events in Africa.

So come Saturday these are the things i’d be happy to see:

1.Tribute to Ronny Coaches and Fennec
the showbiz industry was hard hit this year by the demise of Ronny Coaches, one-half of the award winning duo Buk Bak. A few weeks ago we lost one of the influential artiste managers-Fennec Okyere, manager of Kwaw Kesse, to armed attack.
It will a pefect tribute to them if Charter House could stage a 5 mins montage for them or show a a series of clips of Ronny. And invite Prince Bright to do an ode for his late group mate and friend.

2. Performance should be top notch. It has over the years been one of the lapses of the event. Last year was better. Hope this year is best.
I’d wish to see Shatta Wale on stage. Great it’ll be if Wale and Samini share a stage too.

Castro for sure should perform his hit song. Unfortunately Asamoah Gyan won’t be there to perform.

Charter House won’t be forgiven if they don’t Sarkodie to perform his hit track of the year with Castro ‘Adonai’. It surely must happen.

What must also happen is M.anifest sharing stage with the legendary Obrafour, performing ‘No Shortcut to Heaven’- the jam of life!

3. I applauded Charter House last year for inviting a spoken word artist to open the night, thus providing the young genre the platform to advertise the art.
I hope same will happen on Saturday as the genre seeks such massive platforms to grow, though it is gaining roots in Ghana.

Like many music enthusiats i only wish for a well staged and a successful night of music.
