Highlife musician Dr. Paa Bobo is dead. Family sources have confirmed his passing.

News of his death comes just two days after the rumour mill suggested all was not well with him, with some saying he had kicked the bucket, prompting a rebuttal from the Musicians Union of Ghana.

“The Union, which has been in close contact with the musician and the family, can confirm that he is alive and recuperating,” MUSIGA said in a statement.

But barely two days after MUSIGA’s went public with their statement, the veteran musician has given up the ghost.

Dr. Paa Bobo has been ill for a while and on admission at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

A successful mainstream highlife artiste in his time, his death is the second high profile one to hit the industry, after BukBak’s Ronnie, who also died at the same facility on November 21.
