Courtesy Imexco Ghana Limited, accredited local distributors of Hennessy’s range of drink products, top UK Disc Jockey, Manny Norté is coming to town this December, for a series of fun-filled club events.

Norté, an accomplished club and radio DJ, heads to town for the week-long Hennessy DJ Tour. The tour officially kicks off at the Devino club behind the SSNIT Hospital at Osu on Saturday, December 28. The event runs from midnight to 3.00am.

The party train makes a stopover at the Shisha Lounge, also in Osu, on Sunday, December 29, from 6pm till 2am, and then at popular joint, Firefly (Osu) on Monday, December 30.

The club tour continues on Tuesday, December 31 at the Movenpick from 11.30pm till about 4.00am. The Rockstone’s Club behind the Police Headquarters will host Manny on January 1 from 12.30am till  3.00am.

The Hollywood Boulevard at the A&C Shopping Mall, East Legon will host him on January 2 from midnight till 3.00am.

Norté wraps up his tour on January 3 with gigs at  the Santoku Club, inside Villagio (near African Regent Hotel)  from 8.00pm till 11.00pm and at  Vienna City,  Kwame Nkrumah Circle from midnight to 3.00am.

A distinguished DJ, presenter and music producer, he is one of the most long-standing and respected figures in the UK Hip Hop, R&B  and club scene, Manny has become known as the “name you can trust” and deservedly so.

Born and raised in West London, Manny started out as a dancer. He used to dance in music videos, college fashion shows and was a regular in battles. It was being a member of a dance crew that Manny developed his taste for music: buying records, practising mixing and creating mix-tapes.

Watching and learning from established DJs, in the early 90s, he became involved in a London movement of DJs, artists and friends called “Rotation”. Running events across the capital, by 1994 they had developed a weekly club night in the heart of West London at “Subterrania”

As a DJ Manny has gone on to perform at practically every top club in the UK, including Fresh n Funky, Smoov at Ministry of Sound, Tipsy in Glasgow, Love Dough in Newcastle, Milk and Hip City in Belfast. His services to the UK club scene have won him a MOBO award for Best UK Club DJ in 2004/05, not to mention multiple nominations and accolades.

Manny is regularly called upon by huge names, such as Jay Z, Beyonce and Rihanna as their DJ of choice when in the UK, he’s played at every notable British event including album launches, the BRITS after -party and Naomi Campbell’s Fashion Relief party.

up tours with US artists such as Nas and Nelly, Manny’s work has taken him to countries such as Malaysia, Hong Kong, Sweden, Geneva, Russia, Kenya, Barcelona, Poland and Greece to name but a few. He was recently invited to be the resident DJ at the F1 Grand Prix in Bahrain.

Manny has also made a name for himself on the radio.

Following four years as resident DJ / Presenter at BBC 1xtra Manny was also on the Kiss network taking control of the popular Friday night mix show, signalling the start of the weekend from midnight till 2am every week.
