Highlife maestro, Kwabena Kwabena (George Kwabena Adu) has inked a two-year record deal with Prince Nana Boakye Yiadom’s Loggy Entertainment.

While artist and new partner are tightlipped on details of the deal, both Kwabena Kwabena and Yiadom expressed to members of the media present at the Alisa Hotel yesterday October 31 for Kwabena Kwabena’s unveiling, that the move marks a remarkable milestone for them.

“I want the betterment of the industry” said Yiadom about his decision to return to artist management despite a decision to retire from the business following the demise of Daasebre Gyamena (whom he used to manage) years ago.

On his part, Kwabena Kwabena also stressed his excitement about the deal, as well as his admiration of Yiadom’s commitment to invest in the arts and his act in particular, regardless of the many challenges facing the terrain.

Compered by broadcasters Ebenezer Nana Yaw Donkor (NYDJ) and Giovani Caleb, the unveiling ceremony, which was also graced by industry colleagues and stakeholders like Okyeame Kwame, MUSIGA President, Bice Osei Kuffour (Obour) among others, saw Kwabena Kwabena premiere his debut song under the label. Titled “Tokro,” the KayWa-produced highlife number translates loosely from Twi as “hole,” and arrives in the same template as “Adult Music,” his sexually-charged quick-tempo collaboration with Samini years ago. Laden with saucy innuendos, “Tokro” caters to bedroom atmosphere, and eulogizes female curvature.

Accompanying visuals to “Tokro,” estimated to cost GHC 125, 000, were directed by renowned cinematographer, GYO of Phamous Philms.

A guitarist, draftsman and philanthropist too, Kwabena Kwabena is author of  critically received albums including Dabi, Daakye, and Ahyɛse. He has been associated with a tall list of esteemed contemporaries including Daddy Lumba, Samini, Sarkodie, Okyeame Kwame, Efya , and Becca.
