Musician Elom Adabla (EL) is set to release the fifth in his flagship BAR projects. Consisting 15 joints, the album consists guest appearances from Nigeria’s Falz, Akan, Recognize Ali, Stargo, Bryan the Mensah, Dopenation among others.
BAR stands for “Best African Rapper,” a claim he has held on to for several years, recently echoing it to broadcaster Bola Ray. During that interview —an episode of personality profile show, Revealed —E.L emphasised the sentiment repeatedly, even after multiple attempts by the host to seek clarification by throwing in names of fellow esteemed rappers just to be sure. Yet, convinced entirely about his quality as a hiphop act, EL consistently stressed, “I am the best rapper in Africa.”
The record is expected to be released during this year’s edition of the rapper’s annual BAR concerts.
EL is best known for the songs “Obuu Mo”, “Kaalu”, “One Ghana”, “Auntie Martha”, “Shelele”, “Mi Naa Bo Po”, “Koko” and “Kaa Bu Ame”, and heads his independent imprint, VO Music. His career highlights include a VGMA Artist of the Year laurel, four studio albums , and multiple mixtapes.
