Taking the “battle” format of Empire’s Ghana Meets Naija show, the gig sees the “One Corner” man go against top Sierra Leonean act, Innocent Salone.
Other highly anticipated sets on the night include that of Patoranking, Arkman, Dallas B, Drizilik, Empress P, Innocent, Kao Denero, Boss LAJ, LXG, Nasser Ayoub, Young Sal, Rap G, King Melody, Blesz, Future, I-Tribe, Kracktwist, Samza, Markmouday, Rozzy and Ragga Spice.
Speaking at the official launch of the concert, Abu Bakarr Turay, CEO of KME, divulges that a paramount goal of his outfit, via events like this one, is to take Sierra Leonean music to the global stage. “This is a big event the world should recognise…let us support the initiative in our own way,” added Nasser Ayoub, chairperson of the launch ceremony.
2018 winner of Ghana Music Awards —UK’s Most Popular Song of the Year prize, Patapaa, because of the tumultuous impact of “One Corner” across the continent, is a massive favourite, as is Patoranking —who has enjoyed A-list status across Africa for something like a decade.
