Okyeame Kwame, the evergreen “Rap Dacta” who is also widely considered the model for the consummate Ghanaian artist, announces the debut single off his forthcoming “Made in Ghana” album.
The number —lead single off the project (his fourth solo effort), was arranged by the legendary Ebo Taylor, features guest vocals from KiDi, and was produced by Dan Grahl.
Quintessential highlife enriched with witty rap, celebratory horns, and ringing folk strings, “Made in Ghana” toasts to the beautifully unique cultural heritage of the Nkrumah —founded nation, and aims at whipping renewed pride among citizens.
“Made in Ghana” invokes E.T Mensah-esque nostalgia, and is already described by critics as a hit.
The album, released under OK Music, was recorded live, consists 10 songs influenced by the various regions in Ghana, and comes out December 14. Ahead of the release, a listening session was held at the Roots Apartment Hotel in Accra September 17.
