Final funeral rites for late Ghanaian showbiz head, Bertrand Nana Turkson, began this morning, with a burial mass at the St. Luke Anglican Church in Kwashieman.
The sombre ceremony was attended by Turkson’s close family and friends, as well as showbiz colleagues as George Quaye, Socrate Safo among others. Aged 42, the affable pundit and author died the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on August 7, following a short illness.
A memorial and thanksgiving service has been scheduled for the St. Luke Anglican Church, Sunday, August 31 at 9 am.
It is widely held in the entertainment fraternity, that his passing is a tremendous loss, his kind, irreplaceable.
Until his death, Turkson made regular appearances on entertainment programmes across Ghana, sat on the board of a number of award schemes, was part of reggae singer Knii Lante’s management team, and was widely loved for his wit and in-depth analysis of GH showbiz.
Coming from a family heavily involved in Ghana’s entertainment industry, Nana is brother to MC Prince Ato Turkson (formerly of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, and former compere of the Miss Ghana Diaries), and author of the 2016 11 -chapter reader, “The Success Journal.”
He was survived by Elizabeth, his wife, and three children.
