Singer King Promise, who currently sits atop many a Ghanaian playlist for his effort on “CCTV”, submits a masterful highlife follow-up.

Titled “Abena”, the record, produced by Killbeatz, serves as the sophomore single off his upcoming debut album. A rich amalgamation of old and new highlife influences, the joint sees the singer return home —to the familiar theme of love songs. It also recalls a specific Kojo Antwi song — “Dadie Anoma” — because of the specific passion of the string cadences.

REVIEW: A King’s PROMISE & THE Beauty of his ‘CCTV’

A master vocalist, Promise (born Gregory Bortey Newman) unloads verses which naturally constitute love apostrophes, aiding recall even on first listen.

The song is released under Legacy Life Entertainment, which Killbeatz heads.

Visuals which “Abena” has been paired with, are directed by Gabriella Kingsley.
