Fellow Tamale-based musician, Maccasio, has expressed distress over an accident involving music fans ahead of colleague Fancy Gadam’s Aliu Mahama concert tonight.
The show, which was also supposed to feature Nigeria’s Patoranking, has been cancelled following a fatal crash involving music fans part of a welcome party en route the airport to welcome headliners Gadam and Patoranking yesterday.
In the statement, Maccasio mourned the passing of the dead, wished the families of the affected strength, a well as Fancy Gadam, who is reportedly distraught after hearing news of the accident.
The crash, reportedly caused by a collision of a vehicle conveying fans with an oncoming one, has also claimed the lives of two Zylofon employees, as confirmed by Zylofon Cash spokesperson, Halifax Ansah-Addo. A dozen others, injured from the accident, have been sent to the hospital.
Dubbed the “Fancy Gadam X Patoranking” concert, the event, which was scheduled to take place at the Aliu Mahama Stadium, was expected to be attended by over 17, 000 patrons.
