The entire country has been gripped by the sudden passing of former Vice President, Kwesi Amisah-Arthur, who was pronounced dead Friday morning at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra. He reportedly passed out while working out at the Air Force Gym, and was rushed to hospital, where the sad event was confirmed.
Tributes have poured in from celebrities across politics, showbiz, sports etc., largely via social media, praising his humility, selflessness during public service, and exemplary leadership in discharging his duties as fifth Vice-President of the Fourth Republic (August 6, 2012, until January, 2017), under President John Dramani Mahama.
Aged 67, Amissah-Arthur, who was onetime Governor of the Bank of Ghana, and Deputy Minister for Finance, was survived by his wife Matilda, and two children.
