Charity organization, Oklepeme Foundation, focussed on enhancing development within the Yilo Krobo traditional area (E/R) will be launched, 30th day of June, 2018.

Executive Secretary at the paramountcy, Mr. Opai Tetteh disclosed that, a total amount of three hundred thousand Cedis, (GHC 300,000) is expected to be raised on the day to kick- start its interventional projects.

Among key objectives of the Foundation is to roll out plans to fight teenage pregnancy and to enroll affected girl-child back to school as well as promote vocational and technical training among the youth.

Oklepeme Foundation seeks to train youth in the traditional area in areas of agriculture through entrepreneurial training and financial support.

The foundation also looks to aid women in small business with training and financial support among many other activities to be carried out by the Foundation.

This launch precedes ‘Falefale Peemi’ which is already working to address lapses in community sanitation and environmental protection.

Honorable Otiko Afisa Djaba, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection will be Chairperson for the occasion.

Honorable Otiko, during 2018 A.U Day for the African Child recently at Somanya Presbyterian Church Park appealed passionately for support towards the Foundation.¬†She explained that ‘Leave No Child Behind for Africa’s Development’, the theme for the day, reflected the reasons why the Foundation initiated by Paramount chief was needful.

Oklepeme Anorbaah Sasraku, Paramount Chief of the area has therefore extended invitations to corporate Ghana, development agencies and partners, philanthropists, friends, sons and daughters of Yilo Klo State to keep date, 30th June, 2018 and show their benevolence and support.

Venue for the launch and fundraising is the Somanya Community Center at 10 am.
