Singer King Promise first tasted mainstream success with Thank God (featuring Fuse ODG) in 2016. Since then, he has gone on to publish other pieces as Oh Yeah, Hey Sexy, and Selfish –all of which have promptly proven masterpieces, going on to record considerable acclaim.
And while he has steadily carved a niche for himself as Ghana’s answer to Trey Songz, he also proves, with his new offering, CCTV, that he’s still adept with rendering quasi- Gospel tunes. Like Thank God, CCTV is produced by Killbeatz, who also heads Legacy Life Entertainment (the label to which Promise is signed). It also sees the singer return to the themes of gratitude to God, for the blessing which is every morning one wakes up from bed.
Born Gregory Bortey Newman, the award-winning singer/songwriter submits a tidy and effortless vocal performance, reiterating via the unique silky texture of his voice, the widespread assertion that he’s unquestionable frontrunner among the new generation of vocal technician on Ghana’s airwaves today.
CCTV also features a chorus from hook expert, Mugeez of R2Bees, and riveting testimony from rap icon, Sarkodie. Accompanying visuals are directed by top South African director, JUSTIN CAMPOS.
