Rapper M.anifest serves up a compelling cautionary tale on his latest record titled “Don’t Follow Me”. Produced by MikeMillzOnEm, the single, arriving in Afrobeats groove, also features guest appearances from singer Bayku, and Yaa Pono.
The sobering joint explores unsettling experiences of everyday Ghanaians as a result of poor life choices, admonishing the listener to learn from theses stories on their own pursuits for the good life.
“Don’t Follow Me” follows other recent offerings as “Me Ne Woa”, “Be My Woman” (featuring MI Casa) “Azumah Nelson Flow, and “Do My Own”.
Recently returning from a landmark Fresh Voices of the Commonwealth performance in Australia, M.anifest may be gearing up for the release of a new album. His last album, “Nowhere Cool” (2015) is still widely deemed among most significant Ghanaian albums of the last decade. Signed to Singitdamnit, and grandson of leading African ethnomusicogists and composer J.H. Kwabena Nketiah, M.anifest has, over multiple first-rate albums and prestigious awards, proven himself a truly impactful voice in Ghanaian music.
He has collaborated with global names as Damon Albarn, Erykah Badu, HHP, Kwabena Kwabena, Obrafour among others.
