Singer Eugene Ashie (Wisa Greid), for exposing his manhood while performing at the Accra International Conference Centre on December 24, 2015, during Citi FM’s ‘Decemba 2 Rememba’ concert, has been slapped with a GHC 8,400.00 fine, with a default sentence of 24 months.
An Accra Circuit Court, presided over by Mrs. Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku established inconsistencies in the police statement and Wisa’s testimony during the trial. According to the judgement, Wisa admitted to displaying his penis on stage in his initial statement to the police but submitted that the supposed manhood was a dildo during the trial.
The court found him guilty of gross indecency during the 2015 performance, ruling that the Accra International Conference Centre constituted a public place.
Signed to D -Black’s Black Avenue Muzick, the singer shot to fame via his 2015 hit Ekiki Mi, and performs in his native Ga dialect, English and pidgin. Other records he has published include Mintse Bo, One Side, Slow Motion, and Cocoa.
