Media General (which owns TV3, 3FM, 3news.com, Connect FM, and Akoma FM) has been announced official broadcast partner for this year’s edition of the Ghana Music Awards.
The move marks organisers Charterhouse Ghana’s divorce from GH One TV, which has served as official media outfit for the event in the past few years.
The deal was officially signed live on TV3 Midday Live on February 26, by CEOs of Charterhouse Ghana and Media General: Mrs. Theresa Ayoade and Mrs. Pearl Esua-Mensah, and sees TV3 and its sister stations handed exclusive access to the announcement of nominees and other pre-event rituals, as well as the post-event jam.
Sponsored by telecom giant Vodafone, the line-up of the festival comprises an official launch on March 5, a nominees’ jam in Cape Coast on March 24, a music seminar at the Movënpick Hotel on 12th April, and the main event at the Accra International Conference Centre on April 14.
The main event will be followed by a celebration jam in Tema on April 28.
