Sarkodie’s performance with rap legend Obrafour, is a key highlight from a thoroughly enjoyable Rapperholic 2017 concert held last night at the Accra International Conference Centre.

The rapturous reception which met the Rap Sofuo’s triumphant entry unto the stage was kept at an all-time high as he performed alongside the SarkCess man, well-received collaborations as Saa Okodie No, and Life, as well as classics off Obrafour’s unparalleled catalogue including Yaanom, and Ohene (which Sarkodie impressively recited with perfection).

Both rappers are reportedly brewing a joint album after a passionate appeal by veteran hiplife producer Da’Hammer some months ago (who is producing the work).

Sarkodie has, since the beginning of his career, publicly regarded Obrafour as godfather. Their performance, and Sarkodie bowing to him in a great show of reverence and gratitude was simply heartwarming to behold.

The fifth year running, the show came off at the Accra International Conference Centre Monday, December 25, and witnessed groundbreaking performances from Sarkodie himself, as well as a host of Ghanaian and international acts as Kwesi Arthur, Article Wan, Jayso, Worlasi, King Promise, A.I, Captain Planet, Efya, Becca, Korede Bello, Samini, Joey B, Kurl Songx, Kwaw Kese, Magnom, B4bonah, Akwaboah Jnr., Teephlow, Adina, Strongman, and Yung L.

A multiple-award-winner, Sarkodie recently released his fifth album “Highest”, which follows Makye (2009), Rapperholic (2012), Sarkology (2014), and Mary (2015). Consisting 18 songs, it features collaborations with both local and international heavyweights as Big Narstie, Victoria Kimani (Kenya), Moelogo (UK), Spoken Word act Suli Breaks (UK), Korede Bello (Nigeria), Praiz (Nigeria), Yung L (Nigeria), Jesse Jagz (Nigeria), Flavour (Nigeria) and Bobii Lewis (UK).

The 2017 Rapperholic concert is a joint collaboration between Sarkodie’s SarkCess Music, and A Team Productions.
