Once again, it is that time of the year when London will come alive when beauty meets intellect and culture in an attempt to scale a group of young ladies into the next level of their lives in preparation to take on the world.
This week, the Miss Ghana UK Foundation, organizers of the biggest and most prestigious African beauty pageant across Europe, Miss Ghana UK, has announced Saturday 30th September 2017 as the date for this year’s edition of the beauty pageant.
Scheduled to take place at the Gaumont Palace (formerly known as Dominion Centre) in North London, the night will see sixteen beautiful ladies battling it out for the ultimate award – to be crowned as Miss Ghana UK 2017 Queen.
This year’s event just like every year is expected to be spectacular with the pomp and pageantry it has become noted for. Also assured will be hundreds of fashionistas, key stakeholders from the arts and entertainment industry as well as footballers and other African celebrities in attendance and in their element.
This year is the twenty-fifth edition of the pageant and the organizers are certain of putting together the most memorable event ever in the history of the pageant. Speaking on behalf of the organizers, Ms Mavis Osei indicated that “it is another opportunity to showcase and sell the rich Ghanaian culture to the rest of the world. The event also presents a platform to groom and prepare our ladies to realize their desires of becoming very successful and serve as agents of change in their various communities across the United Kingdom and back in Ghana”.
Ms Osei further reiterated the importance of the pageant in recent times when it has become very necessary to consider the need to preserve the rich Ghanaian culture as well as the customs and values Ghanaians are known for.
