Ghanaian dancehall singer Stonebwoy makes history yet again as he becomes the continent’s first act to mount the New York Caribbean Carnival Week.
Widely described as the “Greatest Carnival In North America”, the concert, is scheduled for Thursday August 1, and also features the likes of Stephen Marley, Cocoa Tea, DAJAH, among other top names in the genre.
This year marks 50 years since the carnival’s inception and comes off at the Brooklyn Museum Grounds.
Winner of several awards including VGMA Artist of the Year and BET Best International Act: Africa (both in 2015), Stonebwoy (born Livingstone Satekla) is author of two albums: Grade 1 (2012) and Necessary Evil (2014).
He recently premiered a new single ” Falling Again” on Apple Music’s Beats 1.
