Hiplife legend Obrafour has announced new music for the first time in a while. The track, Aseda, was produced by Oteng (with whom he also worked on Odasani, and Wose Shirt), and is homage to God almighty for constantly proving to be a safe refuge for him.
Entirely sung, Aseda, which translates from Twi as “gratitude”, is off the rapper’s much-anticipated forthcoming album Obrafoforo. The CD follows other masterpieces as Ntetee Pa, Asem Sebe, Tofa (Time out for Adhession), Pae Mu Ka, Execution Diary, Asem Beba Dabi, and Heavy.
This is not Obrafour’s first gospel song. Over an illustrious career, he has submitted quite a number: Mensesada, Hwan Na,Eny3 Nyame a, My Praise among others.
Born Michael Elliot Kwabena Okyere Darko, Obrafour remains among the most important voices in Ghanaian music. His 1999 debut is still considered the best album in the evolution of the genre.
