VRMG frontman Edem rendered a brillant performance running audiences at the World Trade Centre (Accra) through an endless list of songs he has amassed since announcing his presence in the industry in 2009.
The highest point of his performance perhaps, is an astounding freestyle he served at the end of his performance. Acknowledging the many strangers to local dialects as Ga, Twi, and his native Ewe, he schooled patrons to a few basic words of local speak, masterfully weaving a varied vocabulary into a rhyme which got him wide praise.
Born Denning Edem Hotor , Edem first entered the music industry as Ayigbe Edem, with his widely successful 2009 debut Volta Regime. He followed it up with Mass Production in 2011. A third one, Books and Rhymes was announced months ago. His music style is a fusion of hip-hop to dancehall, reggae and hi life. A brilliant discography consisting songs like Ghetto Arise, Heyba, Bougez, Bra fremi fremi, Nyedzilo, Kpordawoe, andKoenehave made him among some of the country’s most sought after artists.
#MUSELive16 (currently ongoing) has already seen performances from rappers Haywaya, Ko-jo Cue, Feli Nuna, Tee Phlow, DJ Mic Smith, MzVee, Medikal, Sister Deborah, and Joey B.
Hosted by Live FM’s Antoine Mensah and Ogee The MC, the event also parades a brilliant lineup including Eugy Official, Maleek Berry, Kwamz & Flava, among other surprise acts will treat patrons to exciting performances of their hits over the years.
YFM’s Vision DJ, Mic Smith, Starr FM’s Vyrusky and Nii Ayi Tagoe have been entrusted with the turntables, and have ensured superior party aerosphere.
