Performing for about an hour, to Ghanaian dancehall act Shatta Wale kept the entire crowd gathered at the Conference Centre in Accra on their feet for the entire duration he was on stage.
The excited audience, which had gathered for this year’s edition of Citi FM’s annual white top and jeans concert Decemba 2 Rememba, couldn’t hide their elation at seeing the music phenomenon, who has been at the peak of the terrain for the past four years or so. The whole auditorium erupted into deafening euphoria once Shatta Wale (born Charles Nii Armah Mensah) stepped unto the stale with a red bandana tied around his head.
Rendering songs from his glamorous plethora (including Chop Kiss, Mahama Paper, Obodobidi, Talk Talk, and the hilarious Kpuu Kpaa), Shatta Wale proved once more, why he so firmly holds on to the accolade “African Dancehall King”.
Compered by the stations on-air gems Jessica and Osei Kwame, with music from the seasoned Dj Armani, the concert sees performances from Okyeame Kwame, Guru, Article Wan, Nii Funny and others.
