Inaugurated in Porchester Hall in October 2010, the Ghana UK Based Achievement (GUBA) awards has become one of the most anticipated awards schemes for rewarding Ghanaian-basedbrands and individual across the UK.
Nominations have been announced for the 2017 edition of the scheme which has seen such prestigious persons as actor Idris Elba, Fuse ODG, veteran boxer Azumah Nelson, as well as EIB boss Bola Ray. Nominations close on January 29, 2016.
The scheme was founded by award-winning British-Ghanaian entrepreneur, actress, TV presenter, singer, and producer Dentaa Amoateng.
The first of its kind, the scheme has received endorsement from key dignitaries and organisations alike; a rich list which includes The Ghana High Commission to the UK & Ireland, The British High Commission in Ghana, The Ghana Ministry of Tourism, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair and wife Cherie, Lord Paul Boateng, and former FIFA President Sepp Blatter
