Granting an interview Wednesday night on Bola Ray’s Starr Chat, dancehall singer Shatta Wale expressed his desire to see the flag bearers of the main political parties together at a concert before December 7.
This gesture, he hopes, will prove to the citizenry that there’s hardly any animosity between President Mahama and the NPP’s Nana Addo;“I want to meet both at one concert. It’s a plus to see my president and the opposition using my tracks to campaign. I need a platform for people to see that these people are at peace and not at war”, he said.
Born Charles Nii Armah Mensah, Shatta Wale has, over the past five years or so, become a powerful voice in Ghanaian discourse, especially through his music. It is obviously as a result of this that he feels the need to add his voice to the cry for peaceful elections.
Shatta Wale is also set to headline Starr FM‘s annual S- Concert which comes off November 4 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
