– Damon Albarn(Gorillaz/Blur)
“The new album from M.anifest lifts the bar! This is an eclectic delight that artfully fuses elements of Ghanaian traditional styles with Afro Hip-Hop palettes into an accessible sonic powerhouse; Ghana music to the World.”
– Rocky Dawuni
“Huge congratulations to M.anifest on making a master piece!!! My favourite tracks are “Hand Dey Go” (Banger! Mad flows and what a huge chorus!), “Palm Wine & Whisky” and “Damn You Rafiki”…I really enjoyed the whole album. The artwork by Kudzanai is sublime!”
– Spoek Mathambo
I have this long running ‘joke’ with my cousin about my choice of titles for songs and albums and whether they become self-fulfilling prophecies. It’s as funny as it is an uncomfortable truth. I should probably call my next album riches, happiness and perfect bliss.
‘Nowhere Cool’ took two plus years to complete. In that time I performed on 4 continents, in at least 20 countries, shot and released 6 music videos, and of course spent money I didn’t have (yet) in an ambitious creative quest. In those 2 years there was no shortage of ‘nowhere cool’ moments and situations in my personal and professional life. I was hounded by challenges which provided daily inspiration. In the end ‘Nowhere Cool’ wrote itself.
The tougher the fight, the sweeter the triumphs.
The overwhelmingly positive response to ‘Nowhere Cool’ from fans and fellow musicians has validated – if I ever needed it – that the time, resources and risks taken to make this album were worth it.
Kindly keep sharing the links to the album with friends and lovers of good music!
