Elikem The Tailor has explained why he accepted to star in Kobby Rana directed Utopia, which was premiered to massive appeal over the weekend at the Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall and West Hills.

He discloses to ENEWSGH that the message of the story; that live isn’t always a walk in the park is what got him do the film.

“I jumped into it because the script was different, and I loved it…it’s better to act roles like this than the other ones”.

ElikemĀ  plays Kpakpo, a young hustler who would not be overwhelmed by the obstacles the big city presents. “This be Accra”, he keeps hammering in the film to brother Ataa Skolo (Alphonse Menyo) on how important it is to “hustle”, and not let the cock crow before setting out. Both are on a journey to find their paradise, and sees them engage in criminal enterprise which lands them in major trouble.


Shot entirely in Ga, Utopia also features veteran actor Psalm Adjeteyfio, as well as Irene Opare.

Born Elikem Kumordzie, the Big Brother Africa star asked Ghanaians to expect more of such roles from him as it both excites and pleasantly challenges him and makes people aware thatĀ  “the hustle is real”. He has also announced that he’s starring in some upcoming movies and series, and admits that acting also helps him to push his brand.
