Stonebwoy headed for Tamale immediately after his return from his Australia tour, and his concert over the weekend attracted mammoth patronage. Viral photos on social media show him being welcomed by thousands when he landed at the Tamale Airport.

The show was equally well-patronized as he brought on stage his usual world-class performance as he performed his most popular hits. He also performed along major northern act Fancy Gaddam, with whom a likely collaboration has been linked.

To confirm his influence in northern Ghana, Stonebwoy was over the weekend also crowned “Sapashini”, which translates as “Dancehall Warrior”, by Paramount Chief of Tamale, Gukpegu Naa (Naa Alhaji Abdulai).

The BET Award winner has also performed to similar crowds recently including the historic One Africa concert July 22, where he performed to over 15000 patrons at the Barclays Center, New York.

Born Livingstone Etse Satekla, Stonebwoy is CEO of Burniton Music Group, and won Artist of the Year at the 2015 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
