Deborah Owusu-Bonsu, known publicly as Sister Derbie/ Deborah Vanessa marks her birthday today August 25. Shes sister to Wanlov De Kubolor, one half of rap group FOKN Bois.

 

Her 2012 anthem Uncle Obama (a song about wanting to give one Mr Obama’s banana to her monkey) won her international acclaim, and an appearance on CNN.

She appears on rapper Okyeame Kwame’s latest single Tension, which also features her boyfriend Medikal, as well as Cabum.

Sister Derbie has also been involved in  TV presenting, modelling, academia and graphic design.
