MzVee was in attendance at this year’s BET Awards as nominee for Best International Act: Africa.

She told Ghanaian broadcasters Jay Foley and Vanessa Gyan about how she couldn’t stop going on and on about Ghana and her love for home, since arriving in Los Angeles.

She also revealed that it was very important to her to project her identity as an African.

It is no wonder therefore, that she showed up to the main event which came off Sunday night, dazzling like a princess, in this intricately original African number:

Born Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, MzVee is this year, Ghana’s first female nominee at the event. She’s also, at 24, Ghana’s youngest rep.

The award for Best International Act: Africa, for which she was nominated, went to South African DJ Black Coffee. Other nominees in the category includedMzVee yesterday, lost out on the Best International Act: Africa to South Africa’s Black Coffee. Other nominees included Wizkid, Yemi Alade, AKA, Cassper Nyovest, Diamond Platnumz and Serge Beynaud.
