The oil town of Takoradi has hosted the official relaunch of Empire 102.7 FM, owned by Africa’s fastest growing media group EIB Network.
The two-day event, which started on Friday with a float through the principal streets of Sekondi-Takoradi, was followed with a commissioning ceremony of the station’s new ultra-modern office on Saturday. Located on the first floor of the Metro-Orient Building on the Liberation Road in Takoradi, the facility boasts an impressive modern day office design.
The launch was crowned with a music jam on Saturday evening co-headlined by some of the biggest stars in Ghana.
Empire 102.7FM was established in 2013. It continues to be the Western Region’s most promising radio brand with the best talents leading its drive.
The relaunch will see the station focusing on a mix of compelling programmes, good music, live events and entertainment. The station’s concepts and direction have been refreshed with a new and carefully themed market-driven approach to conform to the ever-changing radio industry, officials say.
