Reggae singer Rocky Dawuni has called for the need for Ghanaian music artistes to be supported.
In an interview session on Pluzz FM, the respected musician also argued that reggae music in Ghana has not gained recognition because of the lack of a proper support structure.
“Reggae music in Ghana has not receive recognition yet because our locally genre of music is not supported well by promoters. We have to widen the custom to support our own.
“I am not accusing anybody for not projecting my music but we should love our own music as Jamaicans do to their own.”
Dawuni advised music promoters to desist from extorting money from Ghanaian musicians.
“Music promoters who take money from musicians before promoting their works is really not the means, if we continue to do that we will lose a lot of talents in Ghana.”
