Musician Odartey Milla Lamptey who is known in music circles as Gasmilla, has said his early days in school were very challenging academically.

The Afrobeats star has told Kasapa FM that he always trailed behind his colleagues in class but quickly worked his way up.

In an interview with DJ Perfect on Kasapa Party Mix, the Telemo hit singer revealed how that helped him to self-motivate his way to the top of what looks a fairly successful career in music.

“I got into music because my life depended on it. Music is my blood and the only thing that got me from being the last kid in class to the number one kid in school. Music uplifted me.

Gasmilla started music while a student at the Institute of Divine Education (Shalom Shalom) in Korle Gonno. He later enrolled at the Wesley Grammar Senior High School and finally read Accounting at the Institute of Professional Studies now University of Professional Studies, Accra – UPSA.
