Former TV3 Director of News and Current Affairs, Mary-Ann Acolatse, is the new Managing News Editor of Accra-based radio station Starr FM, enewsgh.com can report.

Acolatse started work today Monday, February 16. She takes over from Daniel Kondor, who moves to the Heritage Newspaper, a member of the EIB Media Network that owns Starr FM and a number of other on air properties across the country.

This website can report that Kondor is being sent to Heritage to lead a major restructuring and editorial policy direction as EIB seeks to revamp it.

Acolatse would be tasked with building a tight newsroom that can fend off the growing competition in news and current affairs on urban radio. In essence, she is to make Starr FM the go-to-source for everything news and current affairs.

Not a stranger to helping news brands grow, her days at TV3, albeit characterized by a lot of drama, saw the station leading the way in that department on national television.

One of the early faces to have given TV3 a giant leap in news and current affairs in the first few years of its operations, she left to take up an appointment at Multi TV’s JOY News only to return to TV3 and leave subsequently. This website broke the news of her exit from TV3 in 2013. Acolatse also worked at the Labone-based Metro TV.
