Power outages can cause you to miss some of your favourite shows on DStv. They can also disrupt the delivery of programmes to your decoder due to the satellite connection to your decoder’s hard drive being interrupted. This results in the loss or interruption of recordings.
We’ve put together a handy guide on how DStv customers can prepare before the electricity goes out, to ensure that you continue to feel every moment with DStv.
Before the lights go out:
Step 1 – Charge all your devices from laptops to smartphones and tablets.
Step 2 – Make sure you’re registered for a Connect ID.
Step 3 – Download the DStv Now App on your smartphone and tablet.
Step 4 – Download all your favourite series and movies using the DStv Now App on your tablet or phone and make sure they are in your playlist.
Step 5- Download the DStv Desktop player on your laptop.
Download the DStv Desktop player here.
Step 6 – Download your favourite series, movies, actuality shows and sports highlights from DStv Catch Up. Make sure that everything you’ve downloaded is sitting comfy in your desktop player playlist.
When the lights go out you can –
– Live stream a selection of 18 premium channels using the DStv Now App. It’s as simple as opening the DStv Now App, entering your Connect ID once off, selecting Live TV from the menu, selecting a channel and hitting the Watch Live button.
– Stream movies, actuality sports highlights and series from DStv Catch Up on your laptop.*
– Watch your favourite shows which you’ve already downloaded on your laptop, smartphone or tablet.
– Watch sports on the go using the SuperSport App or via live video streaming on supersport.com.*
Now that you’ve prepared for load shedding, it’s safe to say that your now-showing-in-the-dark line-up will be uninterrupted.
