Former Chelsea boss Avram Grant has been named the new coach of the Black Stars, for a 27-month term that starts on December 1.
At a formal announcement in Accra on Thursday, the Ghana Football Association said Grant, 54, will lead the team to Januray’s African Cup of Nations.
Officials says his mandate is to “do well at the 2015 Nations Cup and win the 2017 Nations Cup”.
His appointment comes some two months after Kwesi Appiah parted ways with the team, in what the FA says was by mutual consent.
This is Grant’s second international assignment after Israel, which he handled between 2002-06.
