Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan proved his competencies at the other side of the pitch when he turned goalkeeper in Al Ain’s training session in Austria on Sunday morning.
The UAE giants are in the Austrian city of Logan to conclude their preparations ahead of the new season.
Zlatko Dalic’s side arrived in Austria on Friday and have since held a couple of training sessions in their 12-day camp.
Gyan who has been so lethal in front of goal for the Boss since his arrival from Sunderland in 2011 showed he was equally good at preventing goals by playing goalkeeper at the end of Sunday’s session.
Goalkeepers Khalid Essa, Waleed Saleem, Mahmoud Al Mas, Dawoud Sulaiman and Mohamad Saeed all watched on in admiration as the Black Stars captain warmed his palms by pulling off some stunning saves from his other teammates.
Though it was meant to be a joke, Gyan was determined to block off every shot that came his way.
He missed a few of them but ultimately came up on top to draw some praises from his teammates and the technical team.
Some of his teammates even teased he should consider playing in goal in some of their crucial matches as he will be of great help.
Al Ain are expected to play three friendly games during their 12-day training camp in Austria.
